The story started back to 1925 when Hachiko patiently waiting in the exit of Shibuya station and wait for his owner to come back, long story short, the owner passed away due to severe illness. Yes, there is a prayer room in a walking distance from Shibuya Station, located in one of Shibuya`s apartment “NOA DOGENZAKA” room numbers 1107, this prayer space located in the strategic location in Shibuya, there is no mosque in a walking distance from Shibuya, so this prayer space is one of a kind, we are very grateful for the existence of this mosque.

The Mushalla is typical 1R Japanese room with small kitchen space and bathroom (toilet inside the bathroom), there is a lift/elevator in the building since it`s located on the 11th floor.

This prayer space is an apartment room that changed its function as a prayer space established in 2003, therefore, every month the admin/committee of this prayer space needs to pay about 90,000Yen (equal to 830 USD), maybe more.

Due to the limited space but unlimited Muslim visitors, The committee then decided to launch a Shibuya Mosque Project that has a goal to build a mosque in the Shibuya area, you can read about the project here
