Assalamualaikum, strolling around Osaka in the famous Dotonbori street, the place known as a food destination. Along Dotonbori street stretch along Osaka signature and well-known food Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki shops, ready to welcome customer with their hospitality and delicious, mouth-watering treat.
But wait, we need to check if it contains alcohol or not, is it really ok to consume by Muslim, is it contain pork derived materials? there are so many questions that time, till I found a very big sign said “Okonomiyaki and Teppanyaki Chibo Diversity MUSLIM FRIENDLY”. That sign was good enough to make us rushed to the 7th floor. Yes, 7th floor of Chibo building dedicated only for Muslim customer.
7th Floor: The Muslim Floor
We arrived on the 7th floor and notice that there are prayer mats and dress on the right side from the entrance. The 7th floor is the only floor dedicated to Muslim customer, it is separated with others because to make sure there is no cross-contamination between Halal foods and Non- Halal Foods, in this floor you can also check Halal souvenir located on the shelf on the left side there are many kinds of Halal certified souvenir like chocolate, cakes. cookies and drinks.
The Halal Wagyu Okonomiyaki and Halal Teppan wagyu steak
Go to Osaka, will not complete without trying Okonomiyaki or as some people called it “Traditional Japanese Savoury Pancake” many people mixed the Okonomiyaki batter with seafood/meat. cabbage and any other ingredients that you prefer to have, literally anything. The dish is available throughout Japan but it extremely famous here in Osaka.
When we visited Chibo Diversity, we quickly decided to order Halal certified Wagyu Okonomiyaki, because why not? LOL
The wagyu is Halal certified and other ingredients as well, including the Okonomiyaki sauce. And how about the taste? AHHHMAAAZIIINGGG。。Alhamdullilah the taste did not fail us. I personally think that this Okonomiyaki was the best so far.
Not only Okonomiyaki, we also tried Halal certified wagyu teppan steak. The wagyu has the highest quality with delicious taste. The teppan style is when the chef performs the cooking on top of the iron plate in front of the guess. Alhamdullilah we had a chance to see this performance.
We are glad to the fact that this restaurant not only provides halal certified ingredients to make their Muslim friendly dishes but also hired Muslim staff to make sure the standard of Halal foods in this restaurant is well protected and eventually gaining the trust of Muslim customer.
