Spring is finally reached Tohoku. Despite the unfortunate situation, nature is still coming in time. It shows us that life will bloom again for sure. Insya Allah.
Sakura viewing is a famous attraction in Spring in Japan. Even though this year we can not enjoying hanami, we try to appreciate the beauty of nature by making a recap of our favorite Sakura spot in Miyagi prefecture. See part one here.
6. Oomachi Nichi Koen
Only a few steps away from Oomachi Nishi Park Subway station, this park is one of the oldest parks in Sendai city (first opened in 1875). Usually, there are many food stalls, with some halal stall available, during the Sakura festival.

7. Saigyo Modoshi no Matsu Park
Located in Matsuhima, the park located in the uphills facing the smalls island of Matsushima. Matsushima itself listed as “Nihon Sankei” or the top 3 scenic views of Japan together with Miyajima in Hiroshima and Amanohashidate in Kyoto. The park famous for its scenic view of Sakura and Sunrise. If you want to enjoy a leisure time, there is a cozy cafe offering you the best view of the Park.

8. Tohoku Fukushi University
The University complex located in a residential area in Sanjomachi. Aside from the University building, the nearby area is also worth to visit. Who knows, you might spot another local secret here?
