Plataran Indonesia Shinjuku

Plataran Group expands its business to Tokyo by opening “Plataran Indonesia restaurant” in the busiest shopping and business district in Tokyo: Shinjuku. Plataran is an Indonesian based hospitality business. Their business includes hotels&resorts, restaurants, private cruises, and eco-tourism. In Indonesia, Plataran is well known for its foods as well as the scenic locations. In 2018, in celebration of friendship between Indonesia and Japan, Plataran Indonesia brings the true Indonesian experience to Japan.

True Indonesian experience

Being an Indonesian living in Japan, I will always crave for some Indonesian food. When I first looking for Plataran location, I did not expect much, both for the dining setup and the food taste. And they really surprise me. The restaurant is full of Indonesian touch, with engraved wooden decoration and plants ornament to give a sense of the tropical area.
From your dining table, you can take a glimpse of the chefs preparing your orders.

Plataran’s lunch menu

They offer 2 menus as their lunch set: mie goreng which is Indonesian version of yakisoba and nasi goreng which is Indonesian version of omurice. It did not take too long before our orders served. Each set comes with soups with turmeric and chicken broth, 2 pieces of sate ayam (Indonesian yakitori) and shrimp crackers. The taste brings back memories of Indonesia, it tastes exactly the same as the Nasi Goreng in Indonesian hotels. Apart from that, they also offer some Indonesian dessert and Indonesian drinks menu.

Apparently, this restaurant is liked by Japanese as well. As we enjoying our lunch, a lot of Japanese is eating there as well. I really recommend to visit this restaurant to get a taste of Indonesia!
